So enlightening! It's very weird to encounter these recordings when you're a jazz musician used to playing traditional standards, because you totally don't expect them to diverge from the lead sheet. I've been puzzled for years as to how they improvise on these sort of tunes. Shows again how innovative the 2nd quintet was!

OK...So on bar 2 I keep hearing an E natural over what otherwise sounds like Fmin7. My ear is not understanding why or how this works...How on earth does this work?
