Keyboardist , composer and producer Nicholas Semrad currently splits his time between LA & NYC. In his musical journey to date, he has performed and collaborated with an impressive array of artists such as Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles, Miss Lauryn Hill, Donny McCaslin, Bootsy Collins, Louis Cole (Knower), Bilal, Gabriel Garzon-Montano, Meg Mac, Terrace Martin and many others.
Nicholas is also a longtime member of “The Lesson GK". This dynamic band, known for their weekly improvisational sessions in NYC, "seamlessly incorporates elements of experimental hip-hop, jazz, R&B, funk and progressive soul."
Always on the forefront of sound design, Semrad has a deep passion for finding unorthodox ways to navigate through the sonic spectrum, and his work with Yamaha is driven by this passion.
Nicholas already added the Yamaha MONTAGE to his setup as his keys of choice, giving him the versatility and quality needed for his intense touring and recording. It's no wonder then that the new MODX7 instantly resonated with Nicholas, as its engine employs the very same technologies: AWM2 (Advanced Wave Memory 2) sampling and synthesis engine and frequency modulation FM-X.
