I would like to ask you David to take a closer look at the part when God asks Abraham to look up and count the stars. You say it is obviously night but if you read further on it states that the sun went down later. It just may be that God was showing Abraham that the stars are there even if you don’t see them. That is the point that was being driven home to Abraham in that faith is what counts- believing when you can’t see it. God also hints at the fact that it’s daylight because he says to count the stars. “If you can”. Thank you David. 😀

At minute12:33 you mention that it is night time out. Is it possible that it was not night time out and that God showed Abram the stars anyway. Later in the chapter (v 12) it says “as the sun was setting”. This could mean the sun was still up and God showed Abram a miracle.
