Ukraine has moved a step closer to membership of the European Union, a relatively quick step. The European Commission approved the membership last week, and is taking the process further this week. Ukraine is likely to join EU soon, subjected to reforms Kyiv must adopt on human rights, the rule of law and corruption. However, Ukraine has waited longer to join NATO, along with Bosnia and Herzegovina, before Finland and Sweden joined the queue after the Ukraine invasion. Should Putin be worried of the developments in Europe?

The EU simply has no intentions of letting Ukraine join it. President Macron even said, “Ukraine should join an alternate EU.

Simple enough. This is a war, and I can imagine certain emergency wartime measures and laws could be enacted ASAP to ensure that the country will receive the foreign support it needs to win. In a way, this war gives Zelensky and Ukraine as a whole the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reform its previously corrupt and dysfunctional politics without being blocked or filibustered, since this is literally a matter of national survival.

Regarding NATO membership you have ignored the main reason this will not be possible in the medium term - the NATO constitution does not allow non-member countries with on-going military conflict to join. Therefore Ukraine candidacy will only be considered once the present conflict ends so would come too late to influence the current war with Russia and even then is not guaranteed

This was stupid, plain and simple. Whoever says that Ukraine could be an EU member soon, only shows how little he knows about the EU. Becomming a candidate is only the start of a long process in which lots of criteria have to be met and that can take many years and stall indefinetely (just ask Turkey).
NATO membership is even further out. NATO has a policy of not accepting candidates that have active border disputes and military conflicts, which was the primary reason why Ukraine could not join prior to the invasion. Moreover, making Ukraine renounce any plans to join NATO for good was one of Russia´s key objectives when it launched the invasion.

Russia would love to see Ukraine given immediate EU Membership which eliminate all barriers for Pro Western Ukrainians to leave a corrupt, impoverished & war torn country & resettle in any EU Country of their choosing. The EU owes Ukrainians at least that much for using their country as a proxy to fight Russia.

Zelensky is on a way to dig massive grave for Ukraine and Ukrainian, merging with EU will lead to massive inflation, it would have benefited the Ukraine prior to war but the present Ukraine whose most industry got destroyed having a common currency of Euro will either see massive inflation or massive scarcity of basic requirement goods
