The fact that IAEA mission was able to reach ZNPP and their permanent representatives are at the station is a great achievement. Possibly it adds points to the area safety...

My takeaway about the situation is ... Not great, not terrible.
And I'm glad IAEA is there to tell it like it is.

I did not hear the question WHO is shelling the plant. Russia? Why Russia, if THEY occupy the plant? Makes no sense. WHO is shelling the plant? Is this not the NUMBER ONE QUESTION?

I am sure that the IAEA team is not just scientists but also military / security experts that can analyse the direct hits at the reactors and pinpoint from where it was shelled.

Thanks for the professional press conference. No one had better disturb them. Both by political and by shell.

Sounds to me like he's covering for Ukraines shelling of the plant

I agree that presence of IAEA is at least something. But I have a feeling Mr. Grossi danced between raindrops and actually said nothing. What about the attempt to seize the power plant just before arrival of the mission? He has not even mentioned that he has received 20000 signatures of locals, asking Ukraine to stop shelling the power plant. This is why I have to state that the shelling will continue. The main thing is to clearly state who shells the power plant so that it stops. Security here is more important than political correctness!

He misspoke when he said the loss of incoming power from offsite would mean the reactor cooling systems could not operate. That is not correct. Onsite diesel powered generators provide power to keep the reactor cooling systems in operation when offsite power is lost. I don't understand why he said that.
At the time mark 6:17 he said "If you don't have offsite power supply, the cooling systems for the reactors cannot work." That statement is absolutely incorrect, because the backup diesel powered generators will provide the power to keep the cooling systems working.
Then at the time mark 6:58 he said "When there was one situation of a total complete blackout, the diesel generators operated normally." Those two statements are inconsistent.

During his visit, Mr Grossi was handed a letter from the citizens of the Zaporozhie region. It was signed by more than 20 thousand people, demanding the international community to stop the shelling of the NPP by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. One of the residents of Energodar also gave Grossi a fragment of a shell that fell on his dacha. In response, the Director General of the IAEA promised that their demand would be heard. In addition, Grossi thanked Russia for organizing the security of the mission.
According to the local administration of the region, the shelling of the area near the station almost stopped after the arrival of the internation mission.

The Ukrainian leadership remained extremely dissatisfied with the results of the visit of the IAEA mission to the NPP. Thus, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is upset that Grossi did not involve Ukrainian and international journalists in the work of the IAEA delegation.
And the main thing that should take place is the demilitarization of the station’s territory. This is the goal of Ukrainian and international efforts. And it is bad that we have not yet heard the response calls from the IAEA, ” he added.

Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, assessed the work of the IAEA even more negatively.
International institutions and mediation missions look extremely inefficient, extremely cowardly and extremely unprofessional. They were never ready to work in extreme conditions. You don’t trust them already at the entrance, ” he said.

The fact that the presence of international specialists at the station can stop its shelling by the Kiev regime is already an important step forward.

The obvious question nobody asked is:
Why the reactors are not shut down while there is shelling/war all around? They would be, at least in Western Europe and the US.
