Dystopia – Holos (Visualizer)
(P) & (C) 2024 Room N9 Records
“Dystopia”, the first single by Francesco Porsia, aka Holos, kicks off a project of the same name which has been in the works for several years, inspired by the the “Afterlife Records” brand, recalling the Italian duo “Tale of Us”.
The idea of creating a “Concept Album” came to Porsia for the first time in 2020, a period in which music was a way to escape from the strange and unsettling daily life of the pandemic. “Music as a key to another reality” turns out to be the idea behind the entire Audio - Video project.
Each song is paired with a Visual Video specifically designed to allow the listener to fully immerse themselves in the dimension that Holos creates.
The typical sounds of the Melodic Techno genre, in synergy with the warm and enveloping timbres of synthesizers such as the Moog, characterize the song; everything is enriched by incisive and pressing rhythms which, together with the bass lines make for a hypnotic and hugely danceable sound.
An important feature of the production is the harmonic development which has contributed to creating tension as the track progresses.
The alternation of the main melody with other more “suspended” moments helps to keep the listener involved by leading them by the hand along the evolution of the track.
In addition, the slightly prolonged introduction and conclusion make the reproduction of the song more linear and facilitate its mixing during DJ Sets and live Performances.
Holos began producing music in 2016, showing a great interest in EDM, becoming increasingly familiar with both analog instruments and the most current DAWs, combining his desire to produce independently whilst also studying music formally at a college of music, allowing him to further expand his musical skills and horizons.
