Elon Musk want his starlink to launch in India, He has also talked with narendra modi regarding this when modi was on a trip to usa. According to him, Starlink will be incredibly helpful in remote villages that have no internet or lack high-speed services. but the world's richest person facing a strong resistance from Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio.

Mukesh ambani also wanted to launch the satellite broadband business in India and does not want any foreign company to come in this field and take his market shares, therefore he want the government to auction the satellite spectrum which will give exclusive rights to his company.

On the other hand Starlink wants the government to license it , so that other foreign companies can come and do business.

From Consumer's viewpoint, Licensing will be the best one, because If many Companies Comes then their will be a fair competetion amongst them, which will give the consumers more option to choose the best one.
