I just got an Ultra a few days ago and I've been VERY surprised by it so far. People love to poo poo Android tablets and this thing, while it IS expensive, it's REALLY good. Dex has really grown up, the pen is awesome, the way they've implemented multitasking is EPIC, etc... All in all, REALLY loving it so far! Screen mirroring is something I didn't know about...definitely going to check that out!

TK...this is my first time watching one of your videos and I like the content but if I could make one recommendation, plz consider trying to slow down your speaking because on some points I found myself going back a couple of times to catch what you were trying to explain. Admittedly, I'm 60 and probably a little older than your average listener but I still love technology and try to learn as much as I can about new devices that I purchase. Keep up the good work!

As a long-time Samsung android tablet user, I would really recommend using the SAMSUNG INTERNET BROWSER. That thing is a game-changer and makes the experience even more like a DESKTOP experience as it has an option to load sites IN DESKTOP versions ALL THE TIME, this is important because you won't be presented with weird mobile layout pages on such a huge screen (of course, Chrome browser can do this too, but you have to set to desktop mode FOR EACH tab every time which is a little cumbersome to me.).

I'm saying this because the Samsung Internet browser is underrated and not getting the right acknowledgment it deserves. Most of my daily work tasks can be done through a browser (answering emails, google services such as spreadsheets and docs, Jira, etc) but some can only work best when being viewed in desktop mode (ahem, google services!) as the mobile version won't cut it.

There are also subtle things that makes the Samsung browser able to almost PURELY emulate from the desktop browsing experience. One good example is the ability to hover on web items like menu drop downs, when you're giving reaction to a facebook posts, when you need to hover a video on youtube so you can see a short teaser etc. There are lots of things a simple mouseover can do that completes the desktop-like browsing experience. I don't think that works perfectly in chrome mobile. The video assistant is amazing too.

Bottom line, I like for a mobile browser to load the desktop versions of the sites I'm visiting especially on a tablet with a screen this big (14.6 inches). It makes more sense. :)

15:43 the second screen feature works on any device that can cast their screen, so you can basically cast your friends android phone onto your tablet, use someone elses samsung dex on your screen, cast your tv onto your tablet to watch the tv in a different room, and yes, cast your windows pc onto the tablet and use it as you would use a second screen, as a screen duplicateor extention etc.

Nice and completely thorough TK. This kind of detail is excellent for everyone but I appreciate it as a person that doesn't use tablets and is looking to start again.

18:05 you can actually use samsung internet to do the same for instagram, just open the instagram webpage in samsung internet and sign in (i dont think you need to sign in but i did that) then press the three lines in the top right corner, then press "add page to" then sellect home screen. Voilà ! Now you have an acually ok insta app in portrait. And yes it works on the tab s7 and probably other android tablets that can install samsung internet.

Excellent tips TK. I’ve never used a Samsung tablet, but still a pleasure to watch. Good Lock looks brilliant! 🙂

Great video TK, I love the Logo showing when the spen is near the screen 😎🔥 I'm still undecided on getting a tablet or Chromebook (I know I've been saying this for over a year) 😂

Very useful info, thank you TK. I bought an S8 Ultra just last week and I'm in the process of getting to know it. I'm definitely going to check out Good Lock. The only thing I strongly disagree with is the Book Cover Keyboard. It's not worth the money in my opinion ($300 for the official Samsung product) and it doesn't provide adequate physical protection - the edges of the tablet are not protected at all. I just sent it back and for an eighth of that price bought a no-name full enclosure case with MIL Spec shock protection, making sure touchscreen and the S-pen still work through the protective layer AND a tempered glass screen protector below that. I already have a Bluetooth mouse and now need to purchase a good quality Bluetooth keyboard to go with it. I love the S8 Ultra so far, but I can not recommend the Book Cover Keyboard.

you are lucky. I preordered on Feb 12. got the tablet and headphones but no keyboard yet. I bought one that I will send back when I get mine. love thw tablet for media or work but gaming is a no go. to heavy to hold, and ui vs my thumbs is not easy. Also it kills me to see how you open DEX (love it btw) ... there's a DEX button on the keyboard... And yes, good lock is a must. Nice review, just find your voice debit a bit stressing. Too many words per second lol

Nice video. With the exception of the 2nd screen explanation. I guess there's a reason why you don't show it. :) - AMD as well as Nvidia are not supporting Miracast any longer, so unless you want to work with (very) old drivers, nobody will be using this as a wireless second screen ever.
