This was a true Spinal Tap moment. I joined the band about 5 days before this show. I learned their whole set list and got ready to play this show, but I didn't know any other songs. Our singer got really into the moment, as the crowd was enjoying our set, and wanted one more song. Long story short: I didn't know the encore song and just made it up the whole time haha.

Always ALWAYS have at least one more song than your set requires. This happened to a band I was in and the only thing we had left was a song we wrote that we didn’t like but we played it anyway and the crowd loved it. So we kept it.

I once played a show where I completely forgot one of our songs and my bass rig was especially loud in this venue I was pissing my pants, had to watch rhythm the whole time and just hit the root note they were playing at whatever beat bass drum was currently doing, it was so hard to focus and have any kind of stage presence at the same time

5th fret in normal tuning is A. They know the drill. Literally just do 8 counts of A then 8 counts of open E then a chorus of A C D G in fourths and keep doing that.

Love moments like these. I always have the best times when I'm up on stage winging it and watching the crowd still be into it. Great way to learn a song too 😂 nothing like a little pressure.
