In this episode I finally manage to visit an intact abandoned Maginot bunker in the Alps.
In this bunker I find guns, mortars and other interesting things like a very intact generating room.

At 14:31 the red box and pile of sand was the weapon clearing station for rifles and pistols. The sand would be in the box originally, and the weapon would be pointed into the sand while a demonstration of clearing then firing the weapon indicated the weapon was “clear” and checked out from or returned to the armory at the end of your guard shift. Nothing has changed since then in the military. While the armorer was responsible for properly storing and repairing the weapons it must be cleared before your collection of the weapon and guard duty, or returned from your shift. Amazing preservation of this bunker. A real time capsule, thanks!

What a remarkable bunker. Very rare to see one in this kind of condition. Bob, we don't like seeing you exploring ALONE. A most excellent and well commented video.

Hard to believe this channel is not at 1M subs yet. Bob, you do such a great job in the video production quality and your commentary. Not to mention the amazing places you explore. You're documenting history, thank you.

Its another AMAZING find! Shows just how much work and effort was put in during the war with the shear scale they had to build them rock solid to sustain from a potential bombing/attack! 😮

I never thought about the amount of personnel and equipment it took to operate a gun battery. Far more extensive than I would have expected. Thanks for this video!

If operational 24hours a day there would have been two or three shift changes so there were probably at least double the manpower to number of individual beds. Absolutely fascinating, obviously there are many more to be discovered along the line, hopefully you can find more😊

Hi Bob, those closets at 13:40 may be hermetically sealed battery cabinets. Telephone exchanges need DC voltage. Always a pleasure to watch your videos!

Breath taking how well preserved that bunker is and you have to hand it to the French Latrines every where so you were never taken short as we Brits say! Also i agree with a comment below i feel a bit uneasy when you explore alone, be careful out there Bob!👍

So much treasure and effort to construct it, yet it was a solution for nothing. Nice video and very interesting material.
