I love no matter how old this song gets, they seem to find a way to totally change it, and refresh it and make it totally brand new. Its crazy and wonderful and beautiful, and takes a helluva lot of skill and talent to do!

40 odd years ago, back in 1986..

It was a beautiful day, the sun was beaming and the birds were singing. We had just finished school for the year and it was time for the annual summer dance. I left my mates to grab a Coke from the drinks table when suddenly all went black and a spotlight shone on this beautiful curled brunette girl complete with magnificent blue eyes and a dress that could set the ocean at ease. As she scanned the room her eyes fixed on me as mine did to her. We chatted and laughed until it was time for the slow dancing to begin. It wasn’t your usual school band that would come in to compose the cheesiest song to dance to, this was a new, fresh band called Bastille who put their own take of a power ballad that spoke heights of familiarity. As the song progressed all we could do was just stare, like magnets, fixed onto each other’s eyes and that’s when it hit, our lips collided, that longing moment since the start of the year had finally came. The guitars and synths range out, drums boomed until silence and the lights faded.

And that son, is how I met your mother.
