I bought a '48 Super A three weeks ago here in Michigan. My tractor is completely sorted, with the exception of a few small parts. Mine has front and rear hydraulics, a belly mower and front snow plow. I paid $2400 for a ready to hit the field tractor.

Looks like someone changed yours over to 12V, the white pully on the rear PTO is for the belly mower. Get it running, get that leak fixed, the front end straightened out and get it de-greased and I think you'll be able to ask 1500 to 1800 for it. From my research these tractors are hard to flip, the parts can be expensive and most people have more into than they are worth.

Kevin, check the starter to see if it is 6 volt. Some one changed it to 12 volt and may have left the 6 volt started in. Nothing wrong with that ---she will spin over real fast but burn up if over used. Without rear hydraulics and a 3 point hitch I don't see it worth anymore than 1500 running.

Just found your channel and liked and subscribed. We have a Super A that I bought for $500 three years ago. The engine was needing rebuilt. So We installed a engine from a 200 that we have $700 in parts in it. Then bought a regular A for $300 to get the woods 59 inch belly mower. Likely have around $2000 in it today. We use it to mow along the state highway right of way. We have a recient video of it on our channel.

The oil leak you pointed to is from overflow of trans fluid. Betting it’s kinda milky . It’s common for rainwater to enter the trans under the shifter. Ever seen them stored outside with a bucket over the shifter? That’s why. You’ll need to change the fluid before it freezes. (The steering fluid too. )
Non runner, $800-$1, 000.
Running driving with original seat installed no issues, $2, 500.

Just came across this, so very old, but I bought a 1949 of that tractor in 1990 for $2k with a Woods 60 in belly mower, running. Looks like this one was converted to 12vdc. The generator has been replace with an alternator and the battery relocated to support a 12v. You shouldn't even need the starter as it supports crank starting. Looks like no water pump has been added, so still using the thermal siphon cooling.

Kevin, why is it necessary for anyone to know what you paid for it? What advantage is that to you or the potential new owner? It may be a matter of public record, but if a person wants to know what you bought it for, let them do the work to discover it. If you paid $1.00, people will claim you stole it, if you paid $10, 000, people will say you're stupid and over paid. There's transparency and then there are some things that just aren't anybody's business. Best wishes on the fun of restoring the tractor and it's sale!!

without rear rockshaft, no drawbar and not running I wouldn't spend more than $400 or $500 I bought a 1950 IH Farmall Super A running with full set of front and rear cultivators and bush hog for $2400

My father in law had one like it. It had lever you pushed with your foot to start it. It also had a after market hydraulic system for a 3 point hitch. It was a very good lil tractor.

I no this is a yr old BUT if you buy to flip . do your homework like check out Craigslist and Marketplace and see what others are asking . because I saw a farmall a nearby me with plow and mower running and ready to go for $1100 but at the same time as I was looking I seen some go for $900 to $2500 that just the tractor alone

The super A was built from 1947 until 1954. The rear hydraulic lift is missing from that tractor.

I am working on a restoration project of a Farmall A. Let me tell you that they cost way more to restore than you can sell for. If you do a basic clean and paint and get it running. You will make more money than a real restoration. Got mine for about 2000$ and spent way over 7000$ for the restoration. And no Farmall A is worth 9000$. I think yours should have been bought for 2500 if it runs. 800 if it doesn’t. Parts won’t be that hard to find unless you want OEM original

You had me starting at $2200 and then you said it doesn’t run, the starter is locked up and the clutch needs repair.

That’ll cost you about $2500 so I’ll take it off your hands if you give me $300.

I already own one that doesn’t run.

No. Everything is NOT there. I don’t see front lift or planter/distributor mount
