He’s talking about teams specifically it seems like. I realize how he worded it, but I believe he’s talking about how the players and coaches interact with each other, not the people up top hiring GMs and head coaches, but how players and coaches work together to reach a common goal.

“ I got it, I got it, let me cook...”😂 I love Jalen Rose, almost always agree with his takes, especially this one!

No one could give one example of racism in the NFL. It’s just “there” all the time. How can I league that is overwhelmingly black be racist? Imagine a player saying something racist. They would be kicked off the team in 2 seconds because it would be all over ESPN

White people: Stephen A is a race baiter
Black people: Stephan A is a sellout
Which one is it???

I think Fangio is misunderstood. He refers to the brotherhood among NFL players of different colours. They don’t care about race but they care about being the best possible team and they have to do it together.

The dude’s been in the league for more than FORTY years he’s using his experiences from FORTY years and he’s saying that throughout his own past experiences he hasn’t seen racism.

At the start of the 2014 season, NFL surveys revealed that the league was approximately 68% African-American and about 28% white, with the remaining 4% comprising Asian/Pacific Islander, non-white Hispanics, and those preferring a Mixed Race category. By 2020, 70% players is black.

I'm glad J Rose said rap music, and not hip hop (which in my opinion ended mainly in the early 90's). This discussion needs to happen! People should read the writing on the walls. People if color are in it, others should just listen and try to understand that racism does exist.

I don't live in the USA, but on ESPN I only see black racists. And Sthephen A. Racist is number one on the list.

i am going to give coach vic a little leeway here. I think he said that statement based on the locker rooms he has been in. And being in those locker rooms, he has not witnessed any racist behaviors, and sees everybody gets along well--black, white, etc. He should've made it more clearer.

By recklessly and lazily calling everything “racist, ” the term loses all its meaning.

What do you expect him to say and why was he even asked that? He's talking about his experiences as a white man.

A lack of diversity is not necessarily evidence of racism or discrimination

Isn’t he talking about among players and coaches in the teams he’s been a part of? What’s Vic Fangio got to do with the racial disparity in front office and coach hiring? He’s not a GM. He’s also not gonna turn down a job offer, he started at the high school level. Tone deaf statement? Yeah, sure. Let’s not make him the grand dragon though. A man was murdered by police who need to be prosecuted just as a civilian would be prosecuted. Screaming about everybody’s statements on the situation ain’t helping.
