The biggest 'gap' in folding phones... just got fixed! - Honor Magic Vs

Personally i have been a fan of folding phones from day one – but the price has always been hard to swallow. Finally though – Honor has found a way to bring the cost of assembly down with a singularly casted hinge that brings the total number of hinge support structure components to 4. The Magic VS is a huge leap forward in making foldables cheaper to assemble. #HONORMagicVs #MWC23 #UnleashthePowerofMagic

Watching you destroy devices used to be painful, even more when you own a mid range phone watching someone destroy flagships you can't afford. Keep up the great work!

For those wondering the price, it's listed as ¥8000 which roughly translates to $1180
I expect about $1200 - $1300 once it comes to the US

as a mechanical engineer i will say it's way harder to make a design simpler than making it more complex

I remember my dad told me 20years ago that in future there will be screens that you can fold like newspaper and put in pocket. I taught he was crazy....

I'm fascinated by the innards of phones, but watching you always brings a tear to my eye. Especially when you murder screens 😆😆😆

JRE: I will try to be nice to the device
Also JRE: *cuts right through flexible screen with razor knife*

I was honestly amazed by the relatively small amount of glue on the battery. This should be the norm. (Or no glue at all, but I don't mind this amount.)

It's interesting on the manufacturing process they've done which eliminated some components and structures on the hinge, but I'm skeptical how they would stand to the reverse bend test. Hope you can revisit this one once you get the production version and have it durability tested.

The amount of engineering that goes into these phones is just incredible, blows my mind every time

I definitely think foldable are reaching a point of being a legit evolution for mobile devices. I passed on the first few gens but devices like this and the Find N2 are very compelling examples of the commitment in the folding device segment. Great video as always!

First time I have actually thought it would be nice to own a foldable.. that flat fold looks so good

This definitely seems like the closest a folding phone has gotten to my ideal jumping in points would be. If they can get the crease to go away on the screens somehow I would buy one.

4:52 Zack taking the approach that if he's going down, he's taking everyone with him! Love it...

It's such an honor to review the Honor from the inside!

At 7:25 the left and right gaskets are actually color coordinated with port and starboard sides of boats. Where the starboard side (right) is green, and the port side (left) is red.

Since Z Fold 1, I was a bit skeptical about folding devices, but amazed at the same time. I've waited for them to mature until I've got in November a Z Fold 3 (couldn't afford a 4 😂), and even if I had regressed in some aspects from my late S21U, such as camera department, I got used pretty fast to this new type of device, with its big inner screen, its productivity and how polished the Android version for Z Fold is and really uses all the potential of a folding device format. I don't plan to go back to a "traditional" smartphone anymore, at least for now, and I'm quite thrilled to see the innovations that Z Fold 5 will bring. Unfortunately, the price is still quite prohibitive (especially here in Brazil, where a Z Fold 4 still costs around 8 Brazilian minimum wages).

OnePlus 11 durability test soon please. Really want to see if this year's model is still prone to breaking.

8:16 the way zack was holding it, I was hoping for a bend test

Need a durability! Especially to see if it folds the other way, since it's using plastic, "aerospace grade plastic" but plastic nonetheless in parts of the spine!
