Larry holmes is so under rated, reallisticly hes one of the greatest ever, he was 47wins zero losses at one point. he could give any champ in history a good fight, never bet against larry he really is great, hes got lots of ali's moves mixed with some george foreman techniques. he was also tough as nails, and had a good chin. Ernie shaves could not keep him down and he landed one of his best bombs right on larry's chin, but larry woke up as he hit the floor and just got right back up and started fighting. larry is just unlucky he came soon after the ali era, so he never really got his just due, as most people in those days did not give him the respect he deserved.

Yes Holmes was the better fighter historically no question. Larry Holmes was past his prime at this time but he was getting offers he couldn't refuse to step into the ring.

Holmes did prove on this night that he still had some fight left in him.

They say " styles make fights ". On certain occasions I would agree. And one of those was Tyson vs Holmes. Tyson wasn't buying - ANYTHING that Holmes was selling when they fought. It was the ONLY time I saw Holmes " Tyson did SMASH Holmes....!
