"The Ghetto" - Donny Hathaway (1969)
This nice groove came under the attention of a new audience in 2011 as it was used in the moving French film "Intouchables" (by Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano) in the cover version by George Benson (2000). In the original version it's tenor saxophonist King Curtis (who was also an excellent guitar player) who played the guitar. Donny Hathaway played the organ.
Close your eyes, listen to the organ (especially from 2'30" on) and think of "Riders On The Storm" by The Doors, which was made more than one year later than "The Ghetto"... ;-)

Don't also forget that Mak King 'over used' this Hyptnotical Bass Line on stage (you can hear it on Level 42 Album 'physical presence' can't remember on wich tune ?)
