I’ll never understand why they didn’t go the “Friends” route and be like “we’re an ensemble and all of us make the show, we get paid the same/similar” such a waste of a good cast.

Lol as if. The only thing she got upset about was that Kim’s character became more popular than hers (was she ever the most popular character?). She couldn’t handle it, Kim rightfully wanted similar money to SJP (rightfully so) and SJP closed ranks and turned against her. Nothing but a power struggle and bruised ego

She regards herself as completely innocent however she should have at least cited something that may have been misconstrued or likely to piss off Kim in order to make sense of this. To say I'm completely innocent in regards to pissing off another grown woman just doesn't fly.

Kim Cattrall was my first obsession ever since I first saw the movie Mannequin.

I think Kim's issue started with the salary disparity SJP had with the other 3 girls. Kim wanted them to unite and push for a $1M per episode come season 6 and 7 of SATC, just like what FRIENDS did at the time. But SJP did not bother pushing for it.


In FRIENDS, all of them got paid $1M per episode because they all demanded equal pay for all of them. That did not happen with SATC, with SJP having a huge disparity in pay. Kim negotiated her own raise and eventually the series ended at Season 6.

Also I'm thinking Kim thought Samantha Jones "got cancer" because Kim demanded raise in pay. Since SJP got a hand in the production, Kim may have felt that her role was messed around after she won the Golden Globe.



Ironically, now with "And Just Like That (SATC)", Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis are Executive Producers as well as SJP, something they should've done with SATC to begin with for all 4 of them.

Reference to them as a family, yet ishe was paid more, became executive producer, had creative control and was considered the "star" of what looked like an ensemble cast

It's clearly about her reputation and image. She doesn't care about understanding Kim. Her argument is logically weak. She's saying that the claims about the beef between them aren't true and out of line and the truth is that they all loved each other like family. Yet here she is, discredits Kim's side of the story. Obviously, she started the whole thing.

So they weren't BFF's in real life, maybe even barely spoke...So what..? Why does SJP insist on conflicting what Kim said..? Why not just say something like "sorry she feels that way, I felt/thought differently" or even something like "yeah it was a professional working relationship that is over, and we all just moved on...We all just had/have other interests..."..Why does she basically imply that Kim is lying..? Kim had her own personal experience with the show, as did SJP...Is SJP miffed that the general public knows Kim doesn't send her Christmas cards and invite her to dinner..?
I really don't see the big deal...Lots of people go to work, go home...End of story...Just because they played on a show where the women were up each other's butts, it was just that...A SHOW...end of story...

Well, Kim has made some comments on occasion that throw not-so-subtle shade at SJP. These "rumors" didn't come from nowhere.

if anything I guess is all about the paid differences they get during SATC, KIm's Samantha is as popular as SJP's Carrie. the show may be go on without Charlotte & Miranda, but not without Samantha.

I think Kim, bolstered by the popularity of her portrayal of Samantha, resented Sarah's lead position and influence. Every minute of every work day, meant being submerged in a world that favored SJP/Carrie Bradshaw, by design, and the sheer superficiality of the show and it's characters would be draining - particularly to someone who prides themself on being an intellectual and being above it. I'm not saying that is Kim specifically, but I think it's safe to say that she found it difficult living in SJPs shadow, internalized it, probably at one point or another felt more deserving and entitled - a Sex series with Samantha as the lead and Carrie as a tertiary character could conceivably have been just as successful, if not more. I think Kim felt superior, and now that the show is over, this is Kim's way of exerting some control and spotlight, basically saying she resented the experience, despite the fact that it resurrected her fledgling career.

There are 3 sides to every story. It’s just mind blowing how different SJP and Kim C version of the issue is! They cannot even agree on if this was an issue to begin with!
