It's not really a problem. It actually is just a 20 amp breaker - it just identifies as a 50 amp.

Unfortunately not all home inspectors or companies are created equal. Just like bad contractors, bad inspectors exist to.

The only way this would be acceptable is if it were a dedicated hard wired motor circuit where starting current was a problem and was less than 16 amps FLA on the nameplate
