Can you imagine a time when things like basketball, the telephone, and the automatic dishwasher didn’t exist or had just recently been invented? A time before mass produced cars. Well there are 6 people left in the world who do remember this time in history. They do because they are still alive today. In fact there are only 6 people left in the world who were born in the 1800’s. It was a time when typhoid fever, dysentery, scarlet fever or the measles claimed many lives. You would sleep on a mattress made of thick cloth and usually stuffed with straw. Essentially you would be living like a pioneer. A lot has changed since then. I can’t even imagine what my life was like before the internet let alone in the 1800’s. Well these 6 people do and unsurprisingly they are all women and here they are.

Imagine it's the 2100s and those people who were born in 1999 will be named as "the last person born in the 2nd millennium"

They're all deceased now. If misao okawa was born in 1898, she would have turned 120 now.

My great Grandma was born in 1905. I'm 32 and she lived til I was 14. I wish I could have gone back to ask her more questions. She did tell me A LOT of stories of her school and cars coming around but you don't appreciate that stuff enough until it's too late. I'd love to go talk to all my grandparents and talk to them now. :(

I once worked with a woman who was 105. This was 20 years ago. She started teaching in 1917 in an area near me when it still spoke German. I tried to ask her about her mother's and father's lives and when they were born but she didn't want to talk about that she wanted me to take her to Denny's.

If my grandfather was alive today, he would be 128 years old and my grandmother 125. In my memory they are still alive because they were an important part of my life. I'm 75 now and have grandchildren who will probably remember me the same way.

It's just crazy how much insanity they went through, I can't grasp my mind to it. Here is a list:
1. World War 1
2. Spanish Flu
3. Titanic
4. Roaring Twenties
5. Great Depression
6. World War 2
7. First atomic bomb
8. Television
9. Rock And Roll
10. Vietnam War
11. Hippies
12. Jonestown
13. Pop
14. Punks
15. Aids
16. 9/11
17. SARS
18. Tsunami 2004
19. Tsunami 2011

I would go crazy tbh.

God bless you all from that era. I know for a fact you all have seen this country in both good times and bad, lived through disasters that shadow stuff we're going through now. You're survivors. I got tons of respect for survivors. God bless you.

That’s one the craziest things I’ve ever heard. Think about every single man that was ever born before 1900 is dead now. Man... it’s crazy😕

Maybe you should go back to math class because anyone born in the 1800s will be at least 117.
