The recording of the first socially distanced St Basils BigSleepOut, November 2020. Due to Covid-19, the pinnacle of our fundraising events calendar could not go ahead in its usual format in the grounds ofBirmingham Cathedral. Instead we invited supporters to sleep out in their back gardens or sofa surf and raise as much money as they could to prevent youth homelessness in the West Midlands.
As everyone couldn’t be together, due to social distancing, we called round our supporters and gathered together top notch entertainment for the night. Having never done anything like this before, we learnt how to use live-streaming software…think DIY Children in Need!
PLUS PERFORMANCES FROM;

St Basils is a charity that works with 16 – 25 year olds who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Each year we work with over 5000 young people, providing accommodation, advice and support across the UK’s West Midlands.
We have long since realised that providing a bed alone is not enough for young people to break the cycle of homelessness, and regain the stability to rebuild their lives. We offer our young people access to a Life Skills programme, which gives them the necessary skills to live independently and an accredited qualification.Alongside this also sits our employability programme, which works with young people to get them into employment, education or training.
