How to Find the Key of Any Song

I already talked about how the circle of fifths works, but this is how you actually use the circle of fifths practically. Maybe you want to use the key of your favorite song in your own chord progressions – or maybe you want to key your autotune without waiting for your producer to reply. Whatever the use case, being able to figure out the key of a song is an extremely useful skill. Heres a recap:

• Figure out how many sharps or flats
• Consult the circle of fifths
• Find out which key has the correct number

My piano teacher told me another hint to find out the key which is to look at the latest and deepest note that's playing in the song.
This way you could (maybe not in all cases) find the answer (so Eb or cm in this case)

I don't think it's _that_ simple, because it's not just minor vs. major – these two are just two of seven possible _modes_ of the same key (major is Ionian, and minor is Eolian). But there could be 5 other modes of playing the same 12 notes of the scale, each of them with a different flavour. (And to be frank, the song that you've been analyzing sounded more minor to me than major.)

So is there a difference between Eb major and C minor? They have the same notes don't they? Relative major and minor? If I slapped my autotune in C minor on a Eb major song, would there be a difference ?
