I have both the last gen 981 Boxster S and the current non S 718 Boxster. While the sound from the 718 lacks the finesse and passion of the six, the performance of the new turbo four is just about as quick if not quicker than the 315hp 981 S with 15 less horses! Very impressive indeed

The sound is not bad, just not as good as the flat is an awesome car.

To get that kind of power (365 hp) out of 2.5 L 4 astounding

Are starting to blur the lines here between this and a 911?

John Davis should do voiceover work for movies. He's a legend

25 laps in one day at the Ring and no brake fade. slow laps 8:29 fastest. 718 Boxster S. great car.

365hp from a 2.5L turbo Flat 4, who cares how it sounds. That thing is a like a vacuum on the track!

12.2 seconds for 365hp i always say no one puts power down like a porsche UNlike the dodge HELLCRAP...

That's as fast as a 1998 911 Turbo S!

Even though it's slightly slower, the 981 Boxter is MUCH better. Nothing beats the flat 6 engine note.

Sounds like a turbocharged vacuum cleaner

I love this car, but would rather have the Cayman gts.

3.7 holly crap! I’m a buyer for a used GTS minus the turbo lag. They need stop being cheap and give us a twin scroll unit.

It's amazing the nonsense that has been promulgated about the sound of this car. Vapid reviewers like Chris Harris and Henry Catchpole have brainwashed uninformed viewers into thinking this car doesn't deliver the goods because the of the "sound". It's clear to me these reviewers who go on about the "soul" of the car have run out of witty things to say and fall back on trite cliches. That's the problem with reviewers like CH and HC who think they, personally, should be the center of attention rather than the car.

Interestingly, every time I take my 718 GTS to a PCA event, I get the same comments. "Hey that car sounds good, what did you do to the exhaust". My car has stock exhaust and everybody is preconditioned to hate it but usually likes it. It always results in a good laugh about stupid reviews.

amazing! 0-60 times in the high 3s' is no longer. the domain of supercars anymore, they've moved into the 2s...its becoming more and more common to see cars for mere mortals in the 3 sec range...Says the guy driving a 24yr old probe gt that can barely do in the 7s

"Porsche's entry level roadster"....lol

$80k for a two seater car is a bad investment unless you have F.U money and need an entry-level Porsche not a 992.

For that much money, I'd want an engine that doesn't sound like a farting tractor. Puts up great numbers though if that's your thing
