I was a lonely british man living in Jerez Spain in 1999. I didn't speak a word of Spanish. Every Sunday afternoon i used to go to my favourite bar and the kind Spanish staff would play this song for me. Ill never forget how wonderful music is; an Irish song played by spaniards to help a brit feel more at home.

After watching/hearing this live performance I’m at a loss for words. It’s wonderful what they managed to produce here. Literal goosebumps. The studio version was perfect and somehow they managed to make this live version even better. Such talent!

The perfect personnel choice to lead the vocal, the perfect one to harmonize rather than lead, perfect violin, and SPOT perfect drumming. The perfectly timely inserted strings. The beyond perfect vocal accentuation, crescendo and flourishes, and not TOO much. Perfect. In every respect.
So what does this all say? ARRANGEMENT. Quincy Jones, history's finest, could not have arranged it better.
I have to wonder if that Jim is some otherworldly genius. Or was it someone else?
