My experience has been the addition of the water filter puts too much of a strain on your water pump and starts causing issues. I kept getting the "add water" message after installing the white filters even though I was using distilled water and the reservoir was full of water. I finally ordered a $25 water pump from Amazon and replaced it. The process is slightly time consuming, but not difficult at all for anyone who can twist a screwdriver.

Thanks for the video, it's amazing I was just wondering if the opal filter will fit the opal 2. And you answered that question. Will be ordering a set

How do you remove the filter? I can't get it out but my unit said it needs cleaning, and the filter must be removed to clean.

I bought one and the ice maker had long periods where it sounds like it is sucking air even with plenty of water in the reservoir, so I removed it. Thinking the filter itself is defective and isn't allowing sufficient water flow.

You need to when you insert the nipple into the machine and line it up you have to push the back end of the filter down until it "SNAPS" into the locking mechanism.. it could come loose during operations and you own't get the filtration you seek.

That filter is a waste of money. I don’t taste or see the difference from using it since I’m using water from my reverse osmosis system.
