Hello there! Welcome back to the channel and this week I'm back out Wild Camping in The Lake District on a rather un-challenging little hill called Gummers How, a very popular hill with very good views. I was lucky enough to have great conditions and even more lucky to get a cloud inversion in the morning!

Took my kids up gummers how when my folks lived in Ulverston years ago. It's a fabulous hill to walk and stay on.

Loved this video, Thanks Leo. The Lake District really is stunning! Never been as I am wayyy South, only been to the Peak district thus far. I have the Helm compact 1 and absolutely love it, the 2 is on my wish list for that extra bit of comfort.

Great video LeoI was up in the Lakes a few years ago with my wife on holiday and we walked up Gummers How to see the view and it is truly amazing. I couldn’t stop looking at potential pitching spots up there! 🤣 Anyway, you won’t go wrong getting yourself a Jetboil but get a Flash or slightly larger. That way you can make your own meals such as curry, spag bol, stews etc etc at home (just cook an extra portion for a normal meal) and put it in a BPA free Foil pouch (eBay) once cooled. Use your girlfriends hair straighteners or an iron to seal the pouch, write on the outside the name/date of the contents and pop it in the freezer. Take it out the evening before your wild camp and pack in your rucksack. Then you have a fantastic home cooked meal that you can pop in the Jetboil and simmer in hot water for around 10 minutes or so until piping hot. It only costs a few pence compared to £5 to £7 for a commercially produced meal. Plus you get a substantial portion to eat! That’s my top tip matey for one night camps. Looking forward to your next video. ATVB Graham 😎😎😎😎😎

Must confess I had to look up where Gummers How is, but it looks like a great spot for the views and plenty of pitch options. Nice vid.

wow absolutely loved those views, what a cracking place to pitch, im glad you mentioned about it being a good place for a first wild camp as im going to start next year with my 12 year old son and I do think this would be ideal, thanks for a great video .

I use a jet boil and have a skillet, it’s great but i always use dehydrated meals in winter as there’s no extra room in my bag with the extra clothing I have to take
