I have friends, unfortunately one of those friends is Russian and is in prison right now for not following orders upon his conscription. Apparently a lot of people out who were out of his area all said they aren't doing it.

Haven't heard from any of his family in months. I'm afraid they might be dead. *ALL* of them.

Russia has mandatory army training and service of 12 months for all able bodied men.
The mobilized men are those reservists, and they're not being sent directly to the front. Some of them are. The majority is being quick-retrained.
