Inductive Reasoning 1

Missed the previous lesson?

Precalculus on Khan Academy: You may think that precalculus is simply the course you take before calculus. You would be right, of course, but that definition doesn't mean anything unless you have some knowledge of what calculus is. Let's keep it simple, shall we? Calculus is a conceptual framework which provides systematic techniques for solving problems. These problems are appropriately applicable to analytic geometry and algebra. Therefore....precalculus gives you the background for the mathematical concepts, problems, issues and techniques that appear in calculus, including trigonometry, functions, complex numbers, vectors, matrices, and others. There you have it ladies and gentlemen....an introduction to precalculus!

About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

Ideas:
The idea that if something about the real world was the case, then what you observe would be expected.
The idea that something else could be be the case, and would explain what was observed, and that that is a valid inductive reasoning as well.
The problem with inductive reasoning is that you could have multiple rules that give the same observations.
The one that is usually chosen is the one that has the least complexity.

I think there should be an introduction to inductive reasoning that explains what it actually is before trying to do math with it.
This concept is hard to explain to someone who doesn't already know what it is, and I think the videos you currently have would only help someone who already understands it well enough to apply to math.
I hope you appreciate me pointing this out and I hope you consider it.

Thank you ^^ once again you are truly great for sharing such a helpful knowledge ^^

*read backwards* I hope that gives you some idea as to what I mean. You touch on these topics a bit in each video about induction, but they're well hidden :P and I think a new video would bring them to light and help a new student of the subject understand.
