On Jan. 18, 2019, Marine and actor R. Lee Ermey was buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

My son worshiped this man when he was 14 . When he came to a car show in Baltimore people surrounded him and told my son he will not get his vhs copy of FMJ signed because he had hair down to his waist . Well not only did he greet my son kindly he would only sign my sons vhs and ignored the people with the DVD copies . He was a great man .

Correction* He’s not a “former” Marine, he IS a Marine. No matter what you do in life after the Marine Corps, you’ll always be a marine through and through.

He is also the only Marine every promoted post enlistment. He was medically retired as a Staff Seargent/E6. But was later promoted to the rank of Gunnery Seargent/E7 for his dedication to the Corps and all service members. Ooh Rah!
