I also used to be a member of the old community figs4fun. That's where I got all my varieties. I used to go by the name Figs4Life.

Any old timer remember me?

LOL I disagree that the average person would have no problem finding some of these! Had to get on a waiting list for Black Madeira. Never even heard of the Argentile one before this.
I would like to see a list of the best figs which are also easy to find for the newbie.

I wish the growing season is longer in my area. A lot of fig varieties won’t even have a chance to ripen on the tree.

The best fig tree variety is the one that it's already an adult tree in your backyard 😁

Holy crap!!! You don’t think Peter’s honey is a tasty fig? I absolutely love mine and I have about three other honey figs on my yard. I’m in Maryland so we basically have the same weather for it.

It would have been nice to have a list that one could copy, what good is the information if there's no way to get them ?

OK! here is my situation. I bought a fig tree about 4-5 years ago specific for my area. It said it would produce fruit after 2 years. It produced one bug large yummy sticky fig and never got another one. BUT! it is not a tree anymore. It is a bush. I have it on a high spot (I am in NC) a good distance from creek so it is not over watered. I fertilized it one year with Miricle grow for fruit trees. IT got plenty more twiggy branches but still no fruit. One year I did not water or fertilize it at all. Same results. The twiggy stems from last year are still there an look dead but it gets more every year. What do I do to get a) fruit and b) tree Vs bush

@RossRaddi Hi Ross! 2 questions: You talk about the prosciutto variety. Is this the same as that known as unk prosciutto? And several people including Evan Durtchi (SP?) have suggested Calderona and Bass's Favorite Fig are indistinguishable, or maybe the same. Your thoughts??

How do you compare “Black Celeste” to “Black Madeira” ?
