Lanhee Chen is the David and Diane Steffy Fellow in American Public Policy Studies at the Hoover Institution and Director of Domestic Policy Studies in the Public Policy Program at Stanford. In 2012, he was policy director of the Romney-Ryan campaign. Chen also advised Senator Marco Rubio's 2016 presidential bid, served as Domestic Policy Director of Romney's 2008 campaign, and was a health policy adviser to the Bush-Cheney reelection campaign in 2004.

Mr Chen is a very good speaker. Nicely, succinctly knitting things together. As usual Bill is a great interviewer/moderator. Sorry though, as for me, the WHO does not do it for me now - the corrupt officers, the China tentacle under-current, and the apparent lockdown thrust, which, after listening and watching Prof Senetra Gupta on 'UnHerd' i just don't think the organ is up to it in its current state. The serology, population structures in each nation state etc is just too 'new' and the whole funding profile is just such a mis-match for a new global self-understanding. Thanks Bill, Lanhee.

Lanhee is the incredibly bright, extremely reasoned, and calm voice that us wild eyed radicals can sight to give us some credibility. That being said, TEAR IT DOWN AND START ALL OVER! No involvement with WHO. An real players of good character can find their way to a new format. A format the continually recognizes and respects the sovereignty of nations.

Great interview. I agree with Chen that the US should work to push Tedros out as WHO head and reform the organization before giving up on it. And the new head should definitely not be Canada's Public Health Officer, Theresa Tam, who also seems to be subject to undue influence from the PRC.
