Icahn's a guy who enjoys his life. He sleeps late (2-3 AM), wakes up late (9-10 AM), married his beautiful secretary, drinks alcohol, parties - done well in his career, AND has lived a long life. Seeing him, it's possible to have it all.

OK I will buy a few shares of General Electric and then fire the management.

Yeah, I followed his play into Hertz in the last few months and lost the most I’ve ever lost on the stock market. He’s still a legend but lesson learned. You have to do your own due diligence, .

Today the rules have changed :
#1 Buy whatever stock or index you want
#2 Wait for the FED to prop up the market and buy failed companies
#3 Forget everything else, don't waste time with analysis and never ever use the word "fundamentals" again
#4 Go to the beach
#5 Watch your wealth grow.

This is very well-stated. We are a lazy country overall and including myself in that statement - we all MUST try to start doing more - stare small dream big!

I was a management consultant for 30 years working at F500 companies and what he is saying about management is dead right.

My best strategy to short your stocks until you give up them. When you sold, it is the buy time for me.

So should we be buying Southwest and Delta right now? I don't see how in the long term you wouldn't get nice returns. If we go back to normal pre-corona lifestyle in 2 years (which is a generous timeline), why would Delta still be around $25?

Have to give credit to Andrew Ross Sorkin - the interviewer - held back very well.

Same when buying a car, get the least popular model and keep it for some years.

Clarification: Buy Assets that are Undervalued

Enterprise holdings dominates the market. Hertz was flash and catch ups. Hertz bought cars cheap from manufacturing firms, their “assets” devalued immediately following their use

Buy assets that nobody wants? Bad move. Look at how much of his portfolio he put in Hertz

'Buy what no one wants, " but then he goes on to say you have to fix what is wrong with it. You have to be a super baller to be able to buy that much of a stock that you have influence because of the amount you owe. And, of course, no one buys that much of a company in secret without it being illegal.
