This is really cool! This was my favorite song back in high school, and of course I still love Vertical Horizon. The Best I Ever Had will always reminds me of the one who got away while I was away in the military. Thank you for continuing to share content and rock. Hi Matt, I feel like I’m right there jamming with you! That’s so cool! Yes, I’m a musician. I’m a drummer. Never got famous or nothing but I drum. Laughing out loud! I was in a band for 14 years called helium. Never got famous, but we went to our nightclubs and played. It was a lot of fun. We tried getting famous, but it didn’t work out very well. We did write a few songs and stuff like that but well we were just a guest Call club band garage band I guess. That song reminds me of when we’re on our bus. Our band would always play your band all your music and stuff. Our lead guitar player michael could really play the lead parts in that song made me laugh every time he would do that. He was so funny. Except for, there was one night we were traveling in Colorado and it was snowy and very icy. I had a bad feeling that whole day. Something bad was going to happen. I had told the driver Murphy I said maybe we should stop for the night. He was trying to find a place to stop. Well he stopped all right we crashed. We hit some ice really hard and we slid. I don’t even know how many feet. I was sitting on my bunk, writing a song and we slid Mike our league guitar player was less fortunate, he was on the top bunk sound asleep and I tried to wake him. Let him know we’re about to crash, but he was a heavy sleeper and didn’t wake up. Mike rolled out of the bunk landed on the floor hit his head. I don’t know how many feet and hit the door with his head. The bus tipped over he got hurt real bad got hurt though. I got hurt foot. My foot was broken but he he had a bad brain injury never recovered. He died a week later. We stayed in ICU with him they let us stay with him. We prayed for him, cried over him, and we played your music for him because he loved it so much. As that our band was never the same. I blamed myself still do for his death. He was my boyfriend. I am blind, but he could see and he also had an amazing voice. I still miss him every day and I still wish our band was right where it should be playing nightclubs and laughing and having a great time and eating as much food as possible. I still miss Mike every day. He was always right there beside me always tell me you can do this. He always said Rocky. You can do this every day. He always told me that and he always always told me that I was the best girl he ever had. I always told him he was the best handsome man I ever had to. thank you, Matt and your whole band for always being there. Although you didn’t know us, you were always there for us I think.
