Jupiter Has a Fuzzy Core and Scientists Don’t Know Why!

#shorts Unlike Earth, which is made of rocky materials, Jupiter is not entirely made of gas. Below the clouds of Jupiter are many other layers. But what is at the core? After years of measuring and probing Jupiter, the Juno spacecraft discovered something surprising about the gas giant's core. Something unexpected. Jupiter's core is fuzzy. Before Juno's groundbreaking data was sent back to Earth, scientists thought that at the centre would be a compact, dense object about the size of Earth that is made up of heavy elements, such as silicate rock and iron. This fuzzy core suggests that Jupiter had a large head on impact with another planet early on in its history, when the solar system was a young and violent place billions of years ago. However, scientists do not know enough about Saturn, Uranus or Neptune's interiors yet to say whether Jupiter's core is unusual or whether this giant impact theory is correct.

Remember to like and subscribe for much more to come! Thanks for watching! V

Like Jupiter, I too have a fluffy center.

Who else finds these kinds of videos to be eerie at night 😳

After a collision with such a large rocky planet one would expect that Jupiter's core would be heavy elements held in a solid state because of the titanic pressures.

Dam I can't wait until they find the interior of Uranus

I feel like the core could have formed in the aftermath where an asteroid shattered the young jupiter and all the little pieces came back together, basically like these asteroids which are basically rubble piles

If Jupiter acts like a giant cosmic vacuum cleaner sucking in many asteroids like they say it does.. that would account for the fuzzy nests all those asteroids broken up in pieces still swirling about it's core.

Jupiter got probed with a funny core 🤣

“After years of measuring and probing Jupiter…”

My dirty mind:😏

Can you imagine witnessing one of these collisions from afar? Mind blowing

Naming the probe Juno and using it to spy on Jupiter might be a bit embarrassing for the Optimus Maximus! 🤣🤣🤣

I would like to know what kind of elements all of our planets have in our galaxy. Just think of all the possibilities if there are new elements. We could possibly use those new elements for healing our planet or ourselves. Even possible better technology for our personal use. As a human, discovering new ways of living that can effectively help everyone on our planet is the way to go. Not eliminating our own species so other people can have more room to move around.

"Scientists don't know enough about Uranus's interior yet ..."
I should bloody hope not!

Metallic hydrogen surrounding a fuzzy core are we looking at liquid diamond, or are we looking at something new?

Love these space shorts, I learn a lot about something that means absolutely nothing!!!
But I'll still watch

If they could just put a camera on the planet so we can get a view that would be interesting.

I just love astronomy but it is the most f'd science because every new thing means a whole lot of questions.

I would wonder how Jupiter would affect us if it ignites like the sun? A two star solar system

They will come up with anything to sound interesting about space but they will never be sure because there's no practical way to test their theory
