When you really dig deep into this song it really shows a growing maturity that the singer gained from this relationship. He truly cares for this person and he wishes nothing but happiness for the other person instead of being bitter. He confesses to his previous lover the pain he endures and recognizes the pain he put the other person through. He realizes that this person saved him even at his lowest and he thanks them. I love the vulnerability of this song and the emotions that entwine with it. Beautiful song. I always listen to this when I look back on relationships or friendship that have failed in the past. Whenever I get upset or angry, I think of the good they’ve done for me and the good memories and I smile and I hope they’re doing well. People come and go and this song just makes me remember all of the people who help me and all of the great people I have met in my life. It makes me reflect on who I am and the joy I still have for other people who I’m not as close to

I still remember the day I first heard of Example. It was one of my NOW favorite songs of all time: "Shot yourself on the foot again." And I was hooked. Downloaded all of his albums and told all my friends about him. It was right after I graduated from High School and it helped me get through the time of looking for a job and to keep that job. lol. It also helped me keep strong and to be able to expand my music buds beyond what i heard on my local radio. So if by any chance you are reading this Mr. Gleave, you rock sir! You have a unique voice and your lyrics HAVE meaning. I can relate to it as all the people who listen to your music. I don't dare say I'm your number one fan, but I'm a true fan at the least. Keep making awesome music sir. And next time you are in California, I'll move mountains to go see your perform. Cheers mate!

As much as I love Example's dance style music, it's these sort of songs that got me into him. This song as well as others such as 'Watch The Sun Come Up' and 'The Evolution Of Man' that has such a chilled sound is what makes me love Example. Keep going dude, you're a top artist, and I usually hate this sort of music.
