Показать описание
Green jobs may be the future. In a global economy where countries like the U.S. prioritize a carbon-free future, jobs like those in solar installation look set to grow.
We spoke with Kevin King, a foreman for EmPower Solar, a solar installation company based in New York City and Long Island. King spoke about his work experience, the day-to-day schedule as an installer and his outlook for the industry.
In the U.S., the outlook for photovoltaic construction, and therefore jobs, is strong according to researchers like Pol Lezcano from BloombergNEF. The U.S. set a new record for front-of-the-meter capacity additions in 2020, with an estimated 13.6GW of capacity added. As of 2020, the U.S. solar industry employs more than 230,000. Both metrics are set to grow over the next decade, even without investment on the federal level.
