Just want to say that I’ve watched your content for nearly 14 years now and am proud of the person you’ve grown into. While The Creatures basically raised me (started watching at 11, now I’m 25) I always resonated with who you are and the heart you’ve always seemed to have. Thank you for being honest and open. It’s the hardest step to recovery.

Having just turned 29 this year, Dan and the creatures have always felt like cool older brothers. But Dan was the one I connected to the most. From our shared love of Batman, love of movies and media, sense of humor, regional upbringing, struggling with weight and image and trying to hold a friend group together. I saw so much of myself in Dan and still do to this day. As a someone thats been subscribed as long as some kids have been alive, i just want to say thank you. For continuing to be an example of what growth, accountability and self respect looks like. I appreciate you and your many hours on this site more than youll ever know.

Hey Dan.


I've been here for 15 years. I was in high school when i started watching you, i've gone through college, university, i now have a girlfriend and a house.


From the start, you've been putting yourself out there, for all to see. A LOT of people saw all of your choices and decisions, and a LOT of them were fast to critique and comment, on EVERYTHING.

These people are not you, they could never understand the full context of your own life and decision making, to them, posting a comment on a video is low effort. For you, doing the 'right' thing to please yourself, your friends, familly AND your viewers and commenters is extremely hard, sometimes impossible. it makes it extremely hard to learn to love yourself. It only seems fair to me that you might have regrets, bottled up emotions so complex or intense that you can't process them. I don't think anyone can blame you for needing SOME kind of coping mechanism, and i think most people at some point in their lives go through this to some level.


To me, the thing that would make me the happiest is to see you comfortable, at peace with yourself in the present and the past, and i like to think most of your fans would agree

I use to take prescription drugs to the point where I lost half my teeth and my organ are failing. ill never be able to undo the damage that has been done, knowing that ill never be able to go back to the way I was and be 100% better made it hard to quit

I realized that just because its too late to make things better, doesn't mean I have to continue to make things worse

Adding to this, I'm also 28, I watched ya'll and especially you almost exclusively. Whenever you all split up and you stopped uploading, I was really sad. The last 10 year's have been pretty rough for me too. Flunking out college because I couldn't do the work, failing to get back in because I wouldn't work. Losing myself in not necessarily Substance Abuse but some kind of self-abuse, truthfully I can't tell you what my life was like during that time, it's a blur, I got out about 2 year's ago. Something really terrible happened and all of a sudden I woke up. I'm not back on the path of self-improvement and i'm happy again. I don't know how I made it out of the dark place I was in but what makes me happy is seeing this video and knowing that someone else is finally out too.

Welcome back to the world Dan, whether you do content again or not, I'm just happy to see you.

I've been there, Dan... No form of addiction is easy, but recognition and opening one's self to accountability are always the first (and hardest) steps to recovery. It takes tremendous courage to do something like this, so just wanted to applaud your character. What you're doing is incredible, and I wish you all the best in your journey.❤

Dan, first off holy shit, had no idea what been going through but I do hope that you're doing better and getting back in things. And you NEVER have to apologize to us for missing streams/videos, especially if you're dealing with personal issues, I understand. Just happy to see you still here with us man.
