im getting 1.5 volts at the connector, and 2.5 volts when I pull the washer switch... The washer isn't working would this be the switch itself or the wiring? Video helped me narrow it down

I'm getting voltage to the pump, so I tested the pump outside the reservoir. It would come on for a couple of seconds and then trip the circuit breaker in the battery charger (should have enough amps since it will jump a car). I decided the motor was shot so I got a new one. It did the same thing. Do you think I burned these out because I operated them without water? This is on a 91 Ford Ranger.

so if you are going to check the harness as you were suggesting, what settings do you use on the multimeter?
