I just finished watching The Summer of 42, and the highlight of the film for me was the theme song. The Summer Wind takes us back to the days of Andy and Frank and the voices that drew us to one of the most memorable theme songs ever written. Andy is so missed by multiple millions and he knocks it way out of the park with his silky smooth voice. But as phenomenal as it is, this is a song meant for Peter Nero or Henry Mancini. It takes a life of its own and fills the piano keys or the notes from a brass horn and turns it into the melancholy masterpiece that it truly is as it melts our heart to nearly tears. The movie was memorable, but the song will never be forgotten!
