This shed light on such a controversial name in our modern colonized culture. Growing up I would hear my parents use Ekwensu interchangeably with the “devil”. This video opened me to the idea of Ekwensu’s duality In a way that keeps people accountable—a force that can be harnessed for manifestation, or a fire that can destroy what’s in its path. This distinction is crucial in comparison to Ewkensu’s adoption into Christian lore as the devil, the latter who is ultimately associated with evil and manifests in people as sin. Wow, the knowledge of Ekensu is by far the most interesting spirit I ever came across, being from the east coast I'm very familiar with the Yoruba, or anything that came from it sanitaria, Palo etc, quiet as kept most Latinos from the Caribbean have their hand in African spirituality, but Igbo cosmology and spirituality to me is the best kept secret 💯💯💯 GOOD WORK, KEEP IT COMING!

Ekwensu has always been my favourite arụsị after Ala. I remember in primary school a teacher telling us about how Ekwensu is 'I kwe, ya e su', he ignites when you agree. I understand it better now. He is activated with agreements and oaths.
Isn't he also the arụsị of bargains and trade?

I wonder if/how Ekwensu was worked with by enslaved Igbos in Jamaica during the revolt known as the "Igbo Conspiracy". Unfortunately, the rebellion was thwarted because the British had allegedly captured a person who revealed the secret of the revolt.

With Ekwensu being known as the Arusi of oaths, and successfully being channeled in other colonies, I wonder: what the difference was in the case of Jamaica? I also ponder what the spiritual implications and possible repercussions were for the ones who broke oath.
