2012 Tony Awards - The Book of Mormon Musical - Opening Number 'Hello'

Показать описание
After knocking out audiences on Broadway and receiving a raft of Tony and Olivier Awards (oh, and a Grammy for the soundtrack), The Book of Mormon has arrived at the West End.
Comedy duo Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the (slightly warped) brains behind the animated hit South Park, have joined forces again to pen this hilarious musical that manages to simultaneously be incredibly rude, potentially offensive and unexpectedly endearing.
The musical tells the story of two Salt Lake City Mormons sent as missionaries to Uganda. Hoping for a few baptisms and a couple of conversions they get instead some very harsh realities and a particularly unfriendly warlord. And, the darker things get, the funnier they get. This is very smart stuff, with lyrics that will have you weeping with laughter in the aisles and music by Avenue Q’s Robert Lopez that you’ll be humming in the shower for weeks. Targeting everything from religion to consumerism to musicals themselves, The Book of Mormon is a satirical tour de force.
Now calling London’s Prince of Wales Theatre home, The Book of Mormon’s staggering and well-deserved success make it a must-see. With tickets selling out fast, The Book of Mormon is set to make theatre history.
