What is a Bunion?
Показать описание
A bunion, also known as hallux valgus, is a bony bump that forms at the base of the big toe where it meets the foot. It is a progressive condition that develops over time, gradually causing the big toe to lean towards the other toes and pushing the bone at the base of the big toe outwards.

This can result in pain, swelling, redness, and limited movement of the affected toe. Bunions are often caused by wearing tight, narrow shoes that squeeze the toes together, but they can also be hereditary or caused by underlying medical conditions. Treatment options vary depending on the severity of the bunion, but may include wearing supportive shoes, using orthotic devices, taking pain-relieving medication, or undergoing surgery in more severe cases.
