Those are all great goals, and it looks like you're doing well! I didn't think about doing a specific percentage for keeping accountability of international books.

I'm glad to see you are so well with your reading goals. I started great this year, but at the second quarter of the year I stopped reading. Thankfully, now the second part of the year starts and I can update my goals. Your video reminded me of it. Happy second half of the year!

Nice work on trimming down your TBR! That's awesome, and it's nice to know that other people are working toward the same goal as I am. I like having some unread books on my shelf, so I don't think a 0 TBR is realistic for me, either.

i hit 50 books today, but if you count re-reads & graphic novels i think i'm at 59. my only goal this year was to read more translated fiction and i've read 11 translated novels of the 50. so i'm pretty happy with that ratio. i hope to read quite a few more before the year ends. good luck with your goals :)

Yes! Middlemarch is a book I've tried to read a few times and never got super into. I'm so down for this challenge

I have had Middlemarch on my Kindle to read since last year. Count me in.

My goal this year was to read 60 books. I am at 52. My normal is about 100 so reading less this year.

I also try to make sure I get in international or authors of colour into my reading lists.

You are doing great on your challenges so far!! I have also slightly slacked, a lot, with certain things...the most disappointing is that I haven't been reading any Dominican authors. I was really really hoping to do that this year, but at this point I have only read 2ish...

Not bad, I hardly set myself goals this year, only the 70 books GR challenge, but sine they don't count the multiple rereads happening this year I am behind, hahaha. But that is okay. My not-so-secret goal for my TBR has been for years to get all the books read that have been in there for more than a year...and I hope I will get that done this year. It's a few big books that need to be read, so hoping to read one a month for the rest of the year...

I think #middlemarching would be cute and easy for folks to remember. I actually just read it a few weeks ago and...well, yeah, it's a tough one to get through. Like a lot of classics, it ends up feeling like two or maybe even three books mushed into one. I was much more interested in one story line than the others, so I admit I ended up skimming a lot of it because it just got really slow for me.

I recently picked up Middlemarch secondhand, so this is perfect timing for me. My edition is the way less fancy Penguin Classics one, but it works just the same - count me in! On the hashtag, maybe #MiddleAugust for a month pun... I am also very bad at hashtags...

This is the first year I tried the Book Riot challenge which I love as its making me read old TBR books...if you read a book on the challenge could you mention which box it ticks on the challenge ??

My husband is now cancer free, after months of chemo and radiation. Is the Emperor of all Maladies difficult? It looks incredibly long...which in and of itself is fine, but is it too scientific? I am really curious because I definitely want to read it.
