Searching to configure this more than a hour everybody give a 💩💩💩 link for gamepad setting and after doing that nothing useful

At 1:33 you say to click Steam in upper left. Currently my Steam link doesn't do anything nor do any of the other links on that line. The row below that seem to be working fine such as Store, Library, Community, and Profile. I'm pretty sure they all used to work. It has been probably 10 years though since I have gotten any controller to work properly on Steam on multiple computers and multiple controllers.
