I restarted my career at 27 from marketing to fashion. Total switch. And everyone was telling me not to - that I had already invested so much time in my previous career, that I would start over, that I would be broke and my dreams were pipe dreams.

I enrolled in fashion school, started working part time in stores. Did that for three years before I fast tracked a degree and managed to land a dream role. Now a days I fly to places like Paris, London, Florence, Milan for business and love what I do.

Don’t let people tell you, you can’t, when you’re willing to do the work to make it happen.

PS: get outside perspective. I visited a friend in Paris during that transition time and they view career as this flexible, passion oriented thing. Really changed my view and gave me confidence to chase my dream.

I love that he said "You don't even owe them an explanation" and that he shared how everyone around him was just discouraging him. It's hard

I worked in restaurants until 35. Then I became a massage therapist. Now I'm finally going to use my English degree to write for a living at 49. Life is a journey!

That is how it is. I had my dreams which were not about getting rich, but to work and travel around the world and see as much of it as possible and many people called be stupid and were saying I am "playing my cards wrong" in this life - my family in the front line.

I am almost 50 years old now (a Finnish woman), I have had my upps and downs just like everybody in this age, but I have lived the way I wanted to and lived and travelled in many countries on several continents, I have met so many great people and learned so many things (and languages). And eventhough I don't have a lot of money on my account, I feel really rich inside.

And if I were to die to day, I would not have any regrets.

When thinking about getting older, I just try to keep myself in a good physical condition, so I'll be able to live independently and if I possibly have decades to live still, what all there is still to come.. I can't wait! :)

Sometimes the situation is even deeper. There is a lack of self confidence to make a change.

I appreciate the wisdom, love, tenderness, raw/realness & wholesome vibes of your channel. I enjoy watching your shorts because they're like receiving a warm hug, swift kick/punch to the gut, and pat on the back while one wipes my at the same time😂🫶🏽👏🏼🙌🏽🫂

He is very wise. When you start building your OWN thing/business the majority of people don't understand and will say discouraging things when the chips are down. Don't listen, do it anyways.

He is so right!!! Follow your dreams and take risks. Yes people will say nasty things to you and about you. Yes they will laugh in your face. But do it anyways.🌈💫🌠

As much as I agree with the taking risks and following your dreams part, I don't agree with what he said about young people having nothing to lose. Especially in this day and age, when most people are a single paycheck from being homeless, when it's hard to put food on the table. I never partied when I was in my early 20s. I was stressed as hell, working 2-3 jobs, could never sleep even though I eas exhausted all the time, still ended up homeless and struggled to afford food. I lost a couple of friends around my age to suicide. Many young people have nothing to fall back on or even a family that will help them if they fail. Not every young person just wants to party and be dumb.

I really like this man's positive attitude despite some of his closest people told he is wrong. Good job bro, good job!

I quit my job as an insurance broker at 55 & I’m so glad! Don’t know what I’ll be doing next, & that’s ok…

This guy isn’t wrong, if you have a dream chase it but there’s also nothing wrong with having a stable job, home and loving family, in fact, the latter is often invaluable
