Garden Hose x Bibb Connection Problem [Galvanic Corrosion]

Показать описание
Using my Dremel tool (not shown) to remove/cut the aluminum hose connection from the faucet Bibb. I tried using vinegar and other solutions to remove the corrosion and hopefully unscrew the hose from the faucet, but was unsuccessful. I even took an 18” pipe wrench to the connection and with careful effort, was unable to to remove. This cutting solution might help you remove your corroded hose from the faucet if the vinegar, CLR, or other liquid solution doesn’t work.

The fine print on these hoses say to make and break the connection at least three times a year to prevent the galvanic corrosion from occurring.

all these companies are putting aluminum fittings on hoses. I wish they would use brass, for a few dollars more.

what Dremel tool did you use? I imagine a saw attachment ? I really don't want to try a hacksaw. thanks for the video and info

Mine won’t budge either! Sprayed a lot of kroil in it. Can’t put too much pressure on it afraid might break the line. Don’t want to replace the faucet either.

I need to salvage the other end of mine. Lovely brass shutoff is fused to a clapped out hose that I can’t repair much more
