BUSSINESS SIT-DOWN STRIKE: MOST SHOPS ARE CLOSED WHILE OTHERS OPERATE NORMALLY

Business owners across various sectors within Kampala's Central Business District have closed their shops in protest. 
This move comes after President Yoweri Museveni cancelled a planned meeting with traders scheduled for July 31 at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. 
The traders are protesting against the Electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing System (EFRIS) and high taxes imposed by the Uganda Revenue Authority. 
However, some traders have refused to follow the call for closure, arguing that it is a waste of time
A scheduled meeting between President Yoweri Museveni and the business community in Kampala was abruptly cancelled. 
The meeting was intended to address traders' concerns over the EFRIS system implemented by the Uganda Revenue Authority.
The Minister for Kampala and Metropolitan Affairs, Hajjat Minsa Kabanda, communicated the cancellation via a WhatsApp message to the business community.

although iI'm not Ugandan but i'm from neighboring country ( Somzliland) I am very concerning that demonstration may destabilise the country, so i would like to see peaceful demonstration by the people and police forces who respecting the rights of people in order to express their demands to the government .
as we have seen your neighboring country of kenya demonstrators and police reactions caused deaths and injuries among the people, and huge destruction of country's assets both private and public assets, thats not good,
so government should listen their people and respects their demands not using force to compel people to stop their demonstration in fearful ways .

These traders are deceitful. EFRIS has never been a tax on its own.

EFRIS has never been a tax itself. it's just a mode/method of tax collection/payment. But you leaders of traders have failed to understand it and explain it well to the traders you lead. really now you create a sit-down strike yet you know some have small capital, ate bakora mere ya lero😢.
The meeting was just postponed to another date but not cancelled completely. Try to be patient with the President please ❤❤
