It's rare these days that a first impression of a new car actually makes you feel something, but with the new Cadillac LYRIQ that's exactly what General Motors is going for. We know for some people an electric car is going to be a non-starter no matter what, but even those people have to admit that when you look at this car, it just makes an impression. So, let's take a closer look and see what makes it tick.

I've been driving my Lyriq for 8 months now and all I can say is "I love it". The drive is unbelievable! I had to do with out it for a dew weeks and was driving a rental and I can tell you, it made me miss it even more!

Power liftgate is already included in the base model and up, it is the "hands-free" power liftgate that's equipped on the top sport 3 and luxury 3 trim

This video was helpful. After watching it, I visited the dealership and enjoyed driving it. However, I realized I am not sold on an all-electric vehicle. The infrastructure needs to support it better so I can be comfortable driving it on long road trips. It’s also a personal safety concern. In an ideal situation, I wish they would place charging stations at or near gas stations.

I'm a lyriq owner and I'm surprised by the knock on the ride. Mine rides fantastic. My only issues are buggy software which I'm hopeful will be resolved. But I love the ride and supercruise is amazing.

The review said that the upgraded 19.2kw onboard charger allows for up to 190kw charging. That's not how this works. DC fast charging doesn't use the onboard charger and regardless of which onboard charger is optioned that 190kw is possible at a DC fast charge station. The onboard charger is more relevant to home charging where AC power must be converted and that's when the 19.2kw becomes interesting.

Bought a Sport 1 two weeks ago after driving a model 3 for 5 years. Ride is super smooth so disagree there. Agree on the steering, which could be quicker. Overall loving it.

I own this car. Not looking for clicks. I have no issue at all with the way it rides on the 22's. I find it to be a very good EV. Is it perfect, no. But which one is?

Just picked up our Sport 3 AWD two weeks ago! LOVING IT! The 22" wheels on the Emerald Lake color on our car really completes the look. BTW, the power lift gate comment is not correct. The level 3 just adds the handsfree kick-to-open feature. The others have a power lift-gate that is button operated.

I have experienced several, including a friend's on a weeklong trip, and was very impressed. The ride was suitably refined (probably 20" wheels), and the car is gorgeous inside and out. The A/C in the second row is inadequate, with very little airflow, but that's my only complaint. And contrary to what is stated in the video, the power liftgate is standard on all trims.

i have a lux1 and the ride quality is great. Also, sport mode tightens the steering, and I've had no complaints about it.

Love this Cadillac EV, and the Google software integration is a positive step by GM.

I own a 2019 Chevy Bolt Premier and at 60k mi. I can say it's the best car that I've ever owned. I put a 240v outlet in my garage and charge it at home exclusively. Maintenance? None so far; just rotate and balance the tires. I certainly hope GM will privide a reasonably priced Ultium battery repacement pack when mine is worn out. I like the Lyric but im old and don't want to buy any more vehicles or other capital items at this point in my life.

First review where someone said the ride isn't smooth. Interesting.

Cadillac is doing a-lot of things right lately. This thing is beautiful in person. When my current lease is up next year I hope the 1st round of updates is out like the refreshed Rivian and Mach E that were both just updated. 🏁🏁🏁

Meanwhile Savagegeese ripped this thing apart lol.

I honestly didn’t expect this guy to like this car. He is rough on vehicles, then boom wuddayakno

It certainly is a nice looking vehicle. I fear that dealer pricing won't be very consumer friendly though. Also, in the North East (NY/NJ/CT) the charging infrastructure needs some serious work so I'm not sure how well this car will do in those locations.

How did he make the mistake of saying it has no power lift gate!?!? Did he not open it to show the rear compartment???

The panel that surrounds the center dial moves around like it's loose when he activates it. That would never happen in my Jag iPace.

Another review said the A/C wasn't so great, no?
