As an Indian woman, Indian men should take responsibility of what is happening instead of feeling offended.

All my fellow Indians, why are you getting offended by a statement which is true? Yes indeed we have a large population but so many crimes don't even get reported. Also Nirbhayas rapists got their punishment after almost 10 years. Crimes on women keep happening because the predators think they'll get away with it without any consequences. We have a long way to go if you are hating on a woman who didn't even say something bad about our country.

As an indian...Instead of getting offended (especially the men) we need to start getting better as a country😀 If you are so proud of your country don't r*pe, Don't spread misogyny, maybe for once stop writing "women☕️" and realise what you are doing to the inage of your country

As a Indian I feel that's she is right as a girl I really don't feel safe 100%... If I have to go somewhere alone then I feel really unsafe..
Even walking on Road alone I face so many problems..

"we do have a long way to go when it comes to women's safety" what a heartbreaking statement, the world doesn't even deserve any of us I swear.

It's about women's experience if they feel safe at night and men are getting offended...Those men who wander late at night and say india is safe..Ask to us if we feel safe ...being a girl i absolutely don't feel safe at night...Ask to girls if they feel safe travelling last local, last bus with no crowd..Those men who stay late at night and women start to feel unsafe even if it is 8pm and you are saying india is safe?? MEN ACTUALLY DON'T HAVE RIGHT TO SAY THAT INDIA IS SAFE..So don't get offended ...Keep your emotional patriotism aside when it is a matter of facts..

As an educated Indian boy I am not offended because she is only telling fact. If I'm not wrong our country must be somewhere among top 3 countries with highest rape case every year if not first. I really don't understand what's wrong with some guys that they commit such a heinous crime. May be they are uneducated or maybe poor upbringing or what??

The first girl is absolutely right! As a literal teenager myself, I've come across many situations when I felt unsafe. There has been several cases when I noticed people following me on my way back home from my tuition which ain't even that far away. Alot of times people approached me and tried to talk to me when I am a freaking child even right now!! And j also look alot younger than my age but couldn't avoid these stuff. A man who is freaking in his 30s have followed me to my house which made me leave my tuition cause I couldn't risk going out. I was more creeped out becuz it's almost 10 by the time I reach home

I think feeling “safe” as woman is relative because no place in the world is exactly safe for women. Some places may be safer …but women are always at risk. No woman is ever going to feel completely comfortable walking alone in the park at night or to her car in the evening after work…etc….Which is why I don’t care what statistics say about crime rates in one country vs another. i don’t think women should let their guard down. Always be on alert. Stay cautious….wicked people are everywhere.

People blabbering abt India's population and comparing to other countries and saying India's safe🙄should I laugh or cry at this statement.... IND ofc isn't a safe country most (I said most not many which means reported ones are less by percentage)of the crimes aren't even must be living in a nutshell to say this...

Few solved cases (that too after a decade doesn't mean bttr judicial or law system)...we still have a long way to go ...so at the least we should educate our own

As an Indian the main reason for crime against women is the poor law and order in India.

I moved from the Bay Area in Northern California to South Korea when I was in my 30s. It was the FIRST time in my life I ever felt safe out on the streets. The car situation is scary and I knew a girl that got killed in a hit and run in her first year in Korea, but overall, yeah, compared to where I come from and where I live now, I felt really safe.
