That's a nice looking and extremely well engineered radio. Thanks for explaining it so well. Makes me want to dig one of my old valve radios out for a look. Looking forward to the rest of this series. Graham

Hi M, I have not msg you in awhile but have watched all the videos you have posted. Really liked the creative cosmetic repair you came up with for the Braun Radio, looked factory stock. I believe I told you a kind person e-mailed me a copy of the schematics for the Telefunkin Radio that was given to me, which was great as I could not find a copy. I went ahead and ordered most of the capacitors and some of the resistors that seemed too far out of spec. And bought 2 tubes that tested bad. But I have not started restoring the radio yet. Remember this will be my 1st Radio repair, and I hit a wall right out of the gate. You may have just helped a bit in this video though. You mention while panning past the power transformer about the Black cap looking unit that you said is the rectifier.... That is exactly what my radio has, and I was unsure of its purpose or function. I suspected it might be that, but I was looking for a bridge rectifier or a pair of diodes.. I believe that is burned out on my radio.. Is that something that is obtainable? Or can it be replaced with diodes? The model is a 5173W. Any comment is appreciated Thanks, Tom.

That paper stripe at 10:00 is the control slip from the asselmbly line. It gets stamped at every station the radio is going through.

Mr. Calderira, I was looking for help with the tuning string on a Graetz 811E but it could be a shot in the dark? I watched your whole vid as it was informative and I love the simple wood frame you fabricated. I am not qualified so I am going to try and find someone around Toronto for some help. I disassembled the unit and a light clean but I hear ya when you warn against active voltages. All the best and thanks for sharing. M. Stafford.

I would guess they have all that extra wire so you can pull the chassis without desoldering anything

Your presentations are professional and well documented!
Mr. Caldeira, I am in process of restoration of a Graetz Melodia 1118 and have a few related questions. Is there an email that I can mail you? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

interesting that they would put station locations on the face. I'll bet a lot of those aren't correct anymore.
