after looking into this further, the shock collar could be circumvented by completing the circuit with something conductive (ideally something like tin foil or jewelry but her or the listener's finger would suffice) this would prevent the electricity from entering the neck. Alternatively, the viewer could wrap their sharp cat nails around her throat and if she shocks then slice'n'dice. 2 ways to win that I thought of in 20 minutes EZ dub

Great acting, great backstory.

If it was me, I’d just be pretending to be compliant so I could tip that shock collar off one day (using any of the interference techniques or by simply draining it of its power by conducting it excessively into sources other than my neck - more painful but it’ll render the shock collar nothing more than a regular collar). Then I’d escape.
Either that, or I’d just wait until the right moment to sink my claws into the weakpoints of the person, and break myself out with force.

The reason for wanting to escape? I read the description before listening to the audio; this person I’m inhabiting? They don’t deserve to be trapped and locked away from what they managed to achieve. They deserve to be free and love their life without that interference, moreover they deserve love that doesn’t literally trap them.
